The Material - Solid and Recycled

At Caroline Hjerpe we only work with solid 100% recycled 18k gold or sterling silver, nothing is ever gold filled or plated. It's all the subtle imperfections in our jewelry that shows that our hands made this for you, not machines and assembly lines. Solid gold jewelry will always bee highly valuable and if you take care of it it will last you a lifetime, probably even for centuries. Jewelry that are made out of pure gold can never be worn off or tarnish so feel free to keep them on while living your daily life. Most jewelry with and without gemstones can easily be cleaned at home as shown by Caroline in this video.

Today there are many material options and price ranges on the jewelry market and knowing what direction to go for can be difficult, but keep in mind that if you want your pieces to last - solid gold will always be the best option! Checking the stamps on your jewelry is the easiest way to determine if it’s made with solid gold, a gold piece should always be marked with what metal and brand it was made from. 
If you choose a less exclusive option like gold plated jewelry, it will also look beautiful but most likely only for a short time since it easily gets dull. It can seem like the cheaper option now but add up in price if you have to repeat your purchases as the jewelry gets tarnished over time, instead of investing in a solid gold piece that will look beautiful and valuable for generations.
