ENGAGEMENT STORIES - Jonathan and Stacey

A while ago we asked you to share your engagement stories with us on instagram and we were overwhelmed with all the loving, fun and unique proposals you told us about! We got inspired to share the longer versions of these sweet tales and how the Caroline Hjerpe rings have made it from our bench to your fingers. Our first oh-so-special proposal story is told by the loving couple, Jonathan and Stacey! 

This is how Jonathan proposed to his Stacey -

" Sometimes me and Stacey walk pass the Caroline Hjerpe shop in Stockholm close to where we live just to have a look - we love the design and the fact that the jewelry is produced locally and by hand, with sustainable materials. And we frequently send their instagram posts to each other when we see a new ring in their feed. One thing we have in common is that we both adore the differences of each unique stone. So when I decided to make this proposal happen I had a pretty good idea on what ring my future wife would like. I was so well received when I visited the shop and even though I was quite picky on what I wanted, a deep green sapphire in just the right size and shape, the team quickly helped me find the perfect stone. We decided to go with a 1.39ct Madagascar sapphire with a 2mm 18k gold band and I couldn't be happier! 

The ring was done quicker than I expected and I could then start planning the proposal with the ring well hidden in my closet. I wasn't sure on where to pop the question but we had a trip booked to our favourite Greek island, Samos, and when we got there it felt perfectly romantic. 

Stacey's friends had always said that the day I proposed to her, it would happen with a ring that I crocheted together myself from some grass or so since I am a typical outdoor guy. In order not to disappoint them and dilute the cliché about myself, I had braided an olive branch from the garden of the small house we rented. One day on a walk we tried to reach a small beach down in the bay but the rocks down to it were too steep. But the view was amazing and the sunset was coming, so we decided to enjoy some local wine and olives right there on the cliffs with the ocean below us and I felt that this was the moment! 
Super nervous I went down on one knee and showed her the self braided ring while the real ring was hidden in my other hand. I asked her to be my wife and her answer was immediately YES! With tears of joy and shaky hands I gave her the real engagement ring and it fit her finger perfectly. She burst out laughing and crying - What? How? She had no idea I had planned this proposal and purchased her dream Caroline Hjerpe ring! 

We couldn't be happier with this day - and the ring is PERFECT! ¨
