100% Recycled Diamonds

We believe in creating unique and solid jewelry and at the same time always being kind to mother earth. The 18k gold and sterling silver we work with are always 100% recycled and we are so proud to be able to offer you not only recycled materials but recycled diamonds as well. Our recycled diamond collection is constantly growing and every time you chose to buy one we get extra happy - together we make an impact!

But what is a recycled diamond and how can we guarantee that they keep up the good quality as the new ones we also offer? They look the same, but what is the difference?

Recycled Diamond = Modern cut and kind to the earth

The recycled diamonds we offer are all hand-picked by a few dedicated diamond specialists who only handle recycled diamonds and they all originate from the secondary market in North America. This small scale work load ensures that these diamonds are not mixed up with newly manufactured ones!

Recycled diamonds may sound easy, but it is far from. While sorting and quality-controlling newly manufactured diamonds is an industrial-scale operation, the handling of our recycled diamonds is a much more intimate affair. When a diamond is removed from a previously worn piece of jewelry and acquired by one of the gemologists who hand-pick these diamonds for us, it must be inspected extra carefully. After the diamond has been cleaned its condition and quality is evaluated by a GIA-trained Graduate Gemologist in USA, who also grades the color and clarity of each diamond.

Because of the work involved in bringing them back to the market, recycled diamonds in our premium standard quality (FG VS, or Top Wesselton VS as we say in Sweden) and good condition are more difficult to find than newly manufactured diamonds. And since the work is usually done by a GIA-trained gemologist at a smaller family-run company, rather than in an industrialized sorting facility, the price of recycled diamonds can sometimes end up higher than newly manufactured ones.

Decades ago, it was still not as strongly expected as it is today that a diamond needed a lab report. Many of our diamonds of 0.30ct and up have paid a visit to one of the two GIA laboratories in USA to receive a report. However, this is not always the case; depending on how & when a recycled diamond was sourced for us, it may have reached us straight from our diamond specialists without taking a detour through GIA (which takes several weeks and adds to the cost). Regardless of whether they come with a GIA report or not, we make sure that each of our recycled diamonds are always color- and clarity-graded by a GIA-trained Graduate Gemologist.

So every recycled diamond piece in our store has been curated by us together with our diamond sourcing specialists. Being recycled means that your purchase adds no effects on the climate or environment from processes such as mining or synthetic growth. Let's recycle together! Find your perfect fit here.
